The factory is incredible and the machinery they use is awesome to watch. Keep in mind they're fairly strict with policies and procedures during the tour. It's fun, but they do have to keep things moderated. We visited the Zentrum as part of the paid minute tour. The tour is a must-do if you've never been. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming with a lot of knowledge. Such interesting stories and history.
Botanical garden. Been here before several times but I just recently moved back to the area after being gone for almost 6 years. Went back today after being gone for so long and the people that run the Gardens have really done a fabulous job at cleaning up the park and adding new additions to the Gardens. Had a wonderful walk and got to see some turtles, small fish, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
I would recommend this place if you want to get out of the house for a bit and smell the flowers. Love this beautiful place!! Very well maintained, just read all the other great reviews! Easily one of the prettiest scenic spots in the Burg. They sell plants on the weekends, the picnic tables are made of recycled milk cartons, there is a Little Library, there are all types of streams and ponds.
This garden is a very special place. I love to come out here for the peace and quiet that it offers. The beautiful nature and the sound of the birds make the perfect setting for some meditation, reading a book, or simply taking a walk.

Great trails, picnicking, and a 2 mile, paved, one way loop for automobiles with bicycling lane. Nice visitor center with facilities for the handicapped as well. It has large expanses of open, grassy battlefields, protected forest areas, and a replica cabin from the era.
Found picnic spots with paved access for wheelchairs featuring a table, bench and grill. Not one speck of litter anywhere that I saw. Parking is limited to designated paved spaces only and is greatly concentrated around the visitor center and picnic areas. My dog absolutely loves this park! Great battlefield to enjoy some outdoor activities like biking, hiking, and just all around history touring all around the park!
I recommend stopping at the visitor center to get all the information you need and you can either walk, bike or drive a loop around the battlefield to see all the history that occurred during the Revolution War! It is a nice destination for an outdoor and educational experience.
I enjoyed the self paced walk around the battle field on the gravel and paved walkways, pausing to read the historical information posted. As you walk and read the chronological account, the battle comes to life making it easy to visualize what happened on the sloping terrain.
The visitor center museum was open, however I passed on the opportunity because of the mask requirement upon entry. There are clean restrooms available outside the center. State park. I'll start with the negative, which possibly should reduce this review to 4 STARS: the trail signs are terrible.
They are so bad that they will deter hikers who have experienced just how poorly marked the trails are from hiking in Croft as much as they might wish to. With map in hand, and referring to the map dozens of times, a year ago my wife and I went on a 1. By the time we returned we'd liked well over 4 miles. No big deal, but irritating consider the careful effort we made to follow the trail.
Additionally, Croft has been very busy with woodlands maintenance, evidence of forestry mulching is extensive, mulching deadwood to reduce risk of out-of-control forest fires.
This is all good with the exception that their work has obliterated sections of many trails. Without functional signs it is now harder to determine where the trails are. Croft State Park: greatly increase and improve the trails signs!!! We stayed in the park 3 days recently in our RV and really enjoyed the freshness of the well maintained campground. It was clean, employees were very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Extensive improvements to walkways near and around the lake, retaining walls, and newly installed benches and swings were everywhere.
Fix the stupid trail sign system! What a hidden gem! But why did it take me so long to finally visit this beautiful place?! Also, the nature trail is a 1. They also have kayaks and paddle boards available for rent at Lake Craig. Great state park with 20 miles of trails. Tons of camp sites, but the first set by the office are a little cramped for my taste. The sites by the lake are a little larger and seemed to be more spread out.
The lake is about 2 feet lower than normal right now, but you could literally watch the fish jumping out of the water. The staff was very friendly and the restrooms were spotless. You can access the Palmetto trail from this park. Try it on Wanderlog. National park. I enjoyed the mile long loop walk around the fort ruins and where the town had been. The many signs along the walk helps learn about the siege and life back in the revolution days. I learned alot!
Very well run. Grounds are well kept. Clean and the park ranger was very nice and helpful. Spent 2 and half hours there. If you like American revolutionary history I highly recommend Ninety Six! This was an excellent day and place to visit. We hiked 5 miles and only saw a few people. The history of the place and the area provided in nice abbreviated detail. Quiet hike, plenty of birds. This place is a grst day trip.
Great to learn more about the history of the Upstate from a family plantation perspective. Nice hike down to the Tyler River. A good stop to get out and walk some trails.
We were too late to tour the house but we enjoyed the other historic buildings and the grounds. The second floor has been reopened and the tour was better than ever. I have visited probably 25 times or more but it gets better each time. The gift shop is new and very neat. I hope funding remains in place for this plantation. It has such a rich heritage. Performing arts theater. It was a great place to spend St Patrick's Day.
Such a wonderful setting Last night was our first concert at the Newberry Opera House. Wow is all I can say. The moment we walked into the door we were greeted warmly by the staff, which included the director of the opera house! The facility was spotless, the sound was clear as a bell, and the Sierra Hull and Justin Moses show was about as good as a concert could possibly be. The theatre is a cute one, all good seats, and most of the staff is friendly and helpful.
Well they did not at the Buddy Holly show and it was very distracting to see the staff running around telling people to put their phones down. And when the audience wanted to participate, the staff was telling people to sit down. I have also been a performer and still am and we love when the audience reacts and looks like they are having a good time. It made the experience not as great as it could have been. But the performers were great even though I know they can slightly see the movement around from the white shirts.
And yes in a small theatre they can see YOU. Very rude to be honest and disrespectful of the talent. Please just announce it at the beginning, while your kissing up to the tour groups. Drive-in movie theater. Great experience. Reminded me of when I was a kid. Great value for the money and experience. The concessions do take cash and debit or credit cards.
Definitely an experience u will want to experience. Wonderful drive in theater! I love the double feature all three screens offer. The workers are all pleasant and helpful and the time between movies is long enough to allow for a potty break as well as a snack break. It's more than well worth a visit. I hope you'll enjoy as much as our family does. Classic drive in movie experience. Grounds where you park are setup well. Restroom facilities are poorly maintained and in need of a small nvestment to repair.
Would be more stars if they improved the restrooms. The only thing that I didn't like which was my own fault is that we got a R. Which meant a mid-size hill to walk up and down because we tent camped. The bathroom could use a path to it as well, but we're camping so can't really complain about that much.
Other than that the scenery was beautiful, fishing was great and company was wonderful. It was quiet and just what the doctor ordered! Many of the camp spots are about to be unavailable for renovations, they are much needed.
The spots are small and close to each other, but really a nice place to stay. Light pollution at night, though if that's important to you. This was our second trip and won't be our last. Very nice and clean State Park. The campsites were well kept up and the views were amazing. The roads in the camping areas were very narrow, but not unmanageable.
I would definitely Camp here again and recommend this park to anyone. My only negative was that the weekends are loud. Music playing until midnight and the sound of voices carried throughout the park.

I used to love seeing g them come down the rails, flatten pennies, and just make good memories. My wife bought so e tickets for the train ride and museum. The ride was only a 10 mile ride, but it was fun. Plus you learn alot of history that most probably don't know. When we got back they had cars and other train to tour. It was a good time, and just to learn so much about trains.

This time we bummed a axle on our Maverick X3 and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Shane in the service center. Definitely living by the pay it forward mentality. He's someone to get to know if you go to Carolina Adventure World.

Very nice touch. Just an hour from Charlotte. Lots of trails with varied difficulty. The trails are not marked very well. I have come across many riders that were looking for a trail sign. Bring the trail map with you for the first couple of rides. Overall a Beautiful area you can see for miles from the main building. There is a shop with limited selection, basics like goggles, gloves, and helmets. There is a wash down area which is very helpful. I have not needed but did notice they have storage units and bike rentals.

We stopped and saw just about everything and even petted some very friendly goats. The giraffe feeding stops at pm so if that is on your agenda I would get in line early. We went on a Sunday and the crowds were not too bad. We will definitely become frequent visitors. The zoo was awesome!
Healthy animals! My favorite places to visit had the flamingos and the lions. They had a grizzly bear, which I had not seen before. The botanical gardens were nice, as well. Small, but nice. There is a tram that takes you from the zoo to the garden.
It took me and my partner about 3. I dropped in unexpectedly, looking to get some steps in. Lots of trails and flora. Many places to sit and take a load off. Zoo was a bit more crowded, but pretty cool I was there for about 2 hours and got in my 10k steps.
